Biography
Yueyang (Angela) Zou was born in Chongqing, a beautiful mountainous city on the Yangtze River in China. She studied drawing, sketching, and painting at Shichuan Art Institute in Chongqing before she came to the United States with her family in 2010. From 2013 to 2015, she studied watercolor and acrylic painting and drawing at the Art Department at Blue Mountain College in Mississippi. From 2015 to 2017, she studied oil painting, printmaking, and vine charcoal drawing at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. From 2017 to 2020, she studied at the Middle Tennessee State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Art.
The Art Statement
Yueyang Zou often visits to various galleries to learn from famous artists. She likes to paint landscape and still life at her home in Collierville, TN. Flowers, fruits, landscape, are often the subjects in her art. Her paintings are frequently inspired by the places she has been to or things in everyday life: the ocean landscapes at San Francisco, her mother’s garden, and her childhood memories. Besides doing watercolor or oil painting, she also enjoys the art forms of collage, intaglio and relief. She desires to catch the beauty of common subjects in everyday life or in the nature in her art and hope her art would bring joy to people,
Recently, Yueyang’s paintings were exhibited at the MTSU Todd Art Gallery 210. Her dream’s job is teaching children and adult Painting, Drawing and Crafts.
